UX/UI Designer, 2022-Present 

  • Serve on the agile scrum leadership team of four with CTO, product owner, and lead engineer; co-lead discovery process for new features for web-based SAAS product for healthcare case management. 

  • Coordinate research activities and lead design sprints to uncover product solutions for state agencies and programs across the US.  

  • Expedited developer/coding process and eliminated design inconsistencies by creating the company’s first-ever style guide, asset component library, and new design process in Jira; established consistency across the website’s internal components by designing dedicated Figma prototypes; granted access to stakeholders and successfully unified process for coding design and quality assurance. 

  • Produce wireframes, prototypes, and final designs in Figma and groom user story tickets in Jira for handoff to developers. 

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives on features, collaborating with users and developers weekly to refine products. 

  • Conduct user feedback research sessions; design research questions and screen for ideal users to interview; conduct usability tests to understand individual product use; create user journey map to visualize pain points and desired improvements.  

  • Reduced report generation process from 15 hours per week to mere seconds by designing a bespoke dashboard feature for new clients that provides an instant snapshot of metrics, eliminating the need to generate reports. 

  • Radically improved workflow for healthcare clients by designing a bespoke service log experience which optimizes the tracking and visualization of hundreds of patients’ service hours while improving communication between healthcare providers and patients’ guardians. 

 

iManage, Chicago, IL 

Senior UX Designer, 2021-2022 

  • Spearheaded UX design and transition to web cloud for the company’s highest-grossing product, a legacy SaaS records management tool law firms use worldwide.  

  • Designed concepts to improve the product, identified pain points in user flow, and utilized the existing design system to ensure consistency. Collaborated with the research team to determine test questions and build prototypes for testing innovative designs.  

  • Worked closely with product owner and product manager; collaborated with UX researcher to run prototype tests and solicit feedback; partnered with developer team in Ireland to implement product updates. 

  • Updated action bar design, enabling clients to manage the record destruction process digitally; redesigned legal record review and destruction workflow, completing ten years of backlogged data entry in six months and saving one year of manhours.  

  • Enabled real-time processing and digitization of incoming records, reducing existing records' backlog.  

  • Utilized and maintained style guide for records manager product to unify the style guides across iManage’s suite of products; collaborated with all nine UX groups across products to synthesize and align individual style guides across a suite of products.  

  • Facilitated PO’s vision and quarterly goals for records manager products by presenting to director-level law firm leadership, determining research and design timelines, and delivering completed designs to developers in Ireland.  

  • Founded company’s first Employee Resource Group; utilized design thinking workshop practices to lead volunteers in chartering the group’s mission, vision, and values and led the group to achieve established objectives, focusing on diversity, equality, and inclusion. 

Colibri Group, remote  

Lead UX Architect (Contract), 2020 

  • Successfully increased conversion across client’s portfolio of brands by leading e-commerce and taxonomy project for this national e-learning organization. 

  • Served as a consultant with a three-month contract hired to conduct a heuristic evaluation of the company’s existing e-commerce website to determine the probable cause of sales drop after the merger of two different brands’ shopping sites in their portfolio.  

  • Developed and conducted research activities, including user interviews and Google Analytics research; identified that users did not understand products offered on the website; presented internal leadership teams with the root cause of e-commerce issues.  

  • Created new product page component designs with a focus on category taxonomy. 

  • Crafted training materials for the product team outlining best practices for e-commerce category taxonomy and site architecture based on consumer expectations to improve the user navigation experience in order to boost sales. 

 

Zoro (Subsidiary of Grainger), Chicago, IL 

UX Architect, 2018-2020 

  • Acted as embedded UX designer for product discovery team responsible for end-to-end user experience; partnered product owner, UI designer, and developers to deliver product improvements for business customers shopping at this B2B manufacturing, repair, and operations (MRO) e-commerce store. 

  • Performed heuristic evaluations for best practices and research, analytics, A/B testing, and taxonomy tests to identify improvements to site experience; generated wireframes for product’s user experience; collaborated with UI designer to prepare final handoffs to developers. 

  • Saved the company $1M by leading a homepage redesign project for the company’s first national marketing campaign, eliminating the need for the company to hire an agency for website rebrand.  

  • Gained buy-in from diverse stakeholders and facilitated cohesive choices that met stakeholder and customer needs. 

  • Evaluated homepage, led company-wide design thinking workshops, conducted Baymard site evaluations, and ran usability tests to identify and propose improvements to stakeholders; conducted design sprints to test the success of various homepage designs. 

  • Captured 1,000 new users monthly and increased user engagement on the homepage and cross-channel cart sales; delivered smoother site navigation for users during a high-growth period from 1M product SKUs to 3.7M+ product SKUs.  

  • Reduced page abandonment from 55% to 30% by improving carousel placement on the desktop version.

UX/UI Designer, 2017-2018 

  • Served as consultant to client CNH Industrial; led competitive analysis, research synthesis, and icon audit for tractor products and conducted research synthesis and competitive analysis of sugar cane harvester tractor for screen redesign initiative.  

  • Conducted extensive research on EU Mother Regulation icon standards and audited all icons on the tractor’s touch interface and control system to ensure compliance with international regulations. 

  • Worked closely with developers in Italy and communicated insights to stakeholders. 

  • Saved client $17B in losses and avoided a six-month delay in European market launch by identifying that EU Mother Regulations applied to physical dashboards and not touchscreens, eliminating the need for redesign.
